Tipped as a main write-up in May 2005 at 310p, shares in buy-and-build confectionery and snack food firm Zetar have performed extremely well recently with its latest results fully justifying this run. For the six months ended 31 October, turnover rose 74% to £38.2m, which turned an underlying profit of £0.2m last time into a profit of £1.68m, helped by first time contributions from natural snack food firms, Humdinger and Salamanda, which specialise in supplying organic dried fruit and nuts. Diluted earnings were 3.8p. Zetar has also stated that group sales for the eight months to 31 December were in excess of £56m (versus £32m last time) which underpins this year’s forecasts. Zet ...
