Until recently, Anglo-Eastern Plantations (FT sector: Food &Beverages), the third palm oil grower to feature in TMI in as manymonths, has suffered from the perception that its estate was relativelymature and that unless new acreage was quickly bought in yields wouldsuffer. However, in quite sensational fashion it has suddenly gone on asubstantial buying spree, with three large acquisitions since lastDecember doubling its total land area from 50,000 to 100,000 ha.
