Shares in Hargreaves jumped ahead after it announced that results would exceed expectations. This reflects both strong first half trading, particularly from its energy & commodities trading side but also its acquisition of the 50% it doesn't already own in Coal4Energy, its joint venture with UK Coal, which is expected to be eps enhancing.  Under the terms of the acquisition UK Coal has granted Coal4Energy the right to market all of its domestic and industrial coal production, currently in excess of 250,000 tonnes a year under an exclusive five year contract.In response Brewin Dolphin has upgraded pretax profit forecasts for the current year to end May by 14% from £25m to £28.5m (£2.5m from acquisition, £1m from ...
