Cluff Gold, which is focused on identifying and developing gold mines in West Africa, has grand aspirations for a relative tiddler (market value: £98m), with its objectives being to develop a portfolio generating 2m oz of resources and producing 150,000 oz gold annually. Not many people have the nerve to lay down such a marker but the confidence of founder and chief executive Algy Cluff, an experienced oil and minerals hand, appears well placed, given that Cluff Gold's latest operational update on 11 February claims to be on track to produce 100,000 oz gold this year for the first time.
