A very pleasing update from UDG, which noted that following a strong first quarter, eps is now expected to grow between 6-8% in the year ended 30 September on a constant currency basis and this had led to upgrades to forecasts. Ashfield performed well with operations in the US and Europe helped by volume growth and margin expansion. Sharp Packaging was also a bright spot thanks to US growth while its capacity expansion at its Allentown facility in Pennsylvania remains on track to open in April. The group expects the disposal of its legacy wholesale business to complete by this June, which will leave it with around Eu 700m firepower for further acquisitions.Broker Davy forecasts eps to rise to 29 cents (20p) in FY’1 ...
