Having bottomed out the shares have belatedly started on the road to recovery, helped by an update. For the 18 weeks to 31 December, group revenues rose 4.1% while online sales soared 12% and now account for 70% total sales; amazingly 77% of all new business was generated online.Product revenue increased 5.9%, which beat broker Shore Capital’s expectations of +3.7% and was driven by ladieswear. The three Power Brands, JD Williams (JDW), Simply Be and Jacamo, increased sales 10% while the active customer file rose 13%.Financial services sales fell 0.5%, with interest received up but non-interest lines such as admin charges down, as it continues to improve the quality of the loan book.After several previous downgrad ...
