We’ve seen a continuous stream of positive news from Premier Oil, the latest noting that its flagship Catcher field, originally achieving first oil on 23rd December, has had its first cargo of 500,000 barrels lifted earlier than anticipated and also sold at a premium to Brent prices. A second one, due for lifting in the third week of February, has also achieved a premium.To date four production wells have been brought online and initial rates are 60,000 barrels oil per day (against the original estimate of just 50,000). These wells are being held back to 20,000 boepd until final commissioning of its gas processing modules is completed and it remains on schedule to achieve the 60,000 in Q2 this year.Interestingly, Premie ...
