Boohoo Group - Boohoo Group Debenhams and Arcadia could be deals of the decade

In the year to March 2020 a massive 3.3 million square feet of retail space, equivalent to 42 football pitches, was permanently eliminated from the UK High Street and that occurred even before the pandemic, which has seen further spectacular failures from Mothercare and Edinburgh Woollen Mill (Peacocks & Jaeger) to Bonmarche, Beales and Carphone Warehouse. Amidst the retail carnage online fast fashion group Boohoo has bought the e-commerce, digital and intellectual property assets of Debenhams and a large chunk of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia empire from the receivers.
