Sureserve’s finals for the year ended September walloped expectations with pretax profit increasing 42% (16% above forecasts) to £16m, on sales which increased 27% to £275m. EBITA margins jumped from 5.7% to 6.1% (forecast: 5.5%) despite inflationary cost pressures.  The outlook is strong for both its businesses. The Compliance Services side (gas heating services for local authorities and housing associations) is driven by Government regulatory health & safety requirements while Energy Services (insulation for social housing providers and smart meter installation for large utilities) enjoys a tailwind from decarbonisation commitments.
