While arguments rage over the extent of interest rate cuts in the UK, the even more depressed Euro Zone is expected to go harder in cutting rates and market expectations are for another three downward moves as soon as June, halving their peak-to-trough to just 2%. It won’t take much of a spark for animal spirits to be revived by the elixir of cheap borrowing, and sectors like infrastructure, residential housing and construction could have a rosier outlook by the summer. One share that could respond very positively to an improving macro environment is SigmaRoc, which owns a series of lime and limestone quarries across mainland Europe.
