The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has announced that it is looking into Augean's acquisitions of Atlantic and Zero Waste to see if there is a competition issue and will give its response on 16 May. According to Augean's broker, Numis, Augean has been advised by its lawyers that there is not an issue and in any case, the broker estimates that Augean's market share ranges from 15% to just over 20% which should not be alarming to the OFT. Numis has upgraded its recommendation to a buy with an unchanged target price of 303p. Await developments. ...
