Homeserve - Director buying boosts shares

The shares at one point moved to a new high of 914p after Homeserve announced that pretax profit before goodwill and exceptional items would be "slightly ahead of expectations" for its financial year ended 31 March. This was largely due to a strong Q4 at its largest division, Home Service, which benefited from continuing high insurance policy renewal rates as well as good growth in new business and reduced policy acquisition costs. The only disappointing area was its furniture warranties business, Regency, which continued to struggle because of difficult trading conditions in the furniture retail market.
