Ahead of entering its closed period, PayPoint announced that trading for the year ended 31 March was running ahead of expectations. Both its household bill payments division and the mobile top-ups side generated higher than expected net revenue growth of £0.4m and £1m respectively. The former was driven by growth in energy prepayments, particularly through poaching business from the post office, while mobile top-up growth came as a result of a delay in the migration of transactions from PayPoint's own terminals to retailer owned EPOS till systems.
