Hargreaves Services, which provides transportation and support services to the energy and waste sectors, is a company very much on a roll. With the help of well chosen acquisitions, chief executive Gordon Banham has transformed a sleepy family run firm into a company with a portfolio of higher margin, multi-skilled businesses in sectors which are enjoying strong underlying growth. The beauty of this business is that it has become so successful that most of its rivals simply cannot compete and many have already walked away.
