Chemring - Order book rises to a record £420m

At its AGM on 20 March, Chemring stated that it continued to perform well with the order book now standing at a record £420m, 63% higher than at this time last year. In its countermeasures division the recent contract win with the US government has yielded its first order for 200,500 flares at a value of almost US$15m for delivery next year, while a separate flares contract worth US$20m has also been granted. Strong trading momentum is also being seen in the energetics division with the number of new orders almost treble that of last year.
