With sentiment continuing to warm to firms with exposure to commercial aerospace, it was no surprise that Senior's shares hit a new high over the month. Final results were also strong, with pretax profit rising 19% to £78m on turnover that rose 13% to £641m. Eps went up 21% to 14.5p. In aerospace, which makes engine structures and parts for airframes, turnover rose 15% to £383m and profit 19% to £59.6m. This was driven by large increases in production of large commercial aircraft, which account for 57% divisional sales: Boeing and Airbus delivered a 4% increase in aircraft to 1,011 but more importantly they reported combined net order intake of 2,224, more than twice the rate of deliveries, making for a hea ...
