Delcam - CAD software designer sees three upgrades to forecasts in a year

Shares in Delcam, which supplies computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software to help companies design complex shapes in the automotive and aerospace sectors, have put on a terrific show on the back of a strong run in which brokers have upgraded forecasts three times since the start of 2012. The company, which started as a research project at Cambridge University in 1965, was subsequently taken on by the Delta Group, during which time it was at the forefront of the transition from crude 2D drawing systems to more sophisticated 3D modelling shapes on increasingly powerful computers.
