Given the continuous threat of a Euro Zone break-up it might seem counter intuitive to believe that the commercial aerospace industry would be doing anything other than battening down the hatches. However, the sector, which is dominated by Boeing and Airbus, always takes a long-term view on investment decisions and encouraged by trends such as population growth, urbanisation (deregulation, rising wealth), emerging markets and the need to make planes cheaper and greener to run, is in the middle of a major boom.
