Business publishing and events group Informa released solid results with eps increasing 5% to 40.1p. Strong cash flows meant it spent a net £50m on acquisitions and £114m on dividends but still reduced net debt by £20m to £782m (net debt / EBITDA: 2.2 times). Following the disposal of its corporate training business it has re-named its three divisions. Academic Publishing (formerly academic information), which publishes top brands Taylor & Francis and Routledge and produces books and journals for university libraries and academia, increased profit 4% to £130.9m, reflecting good demand for its content and expertise.
