An excellent year for business events organizer Tarsus with revenues, adjusted operating profit and eps rising 23%, 35% and 15% respectively to £75.9m, £24.7m and 19p, compared with its last “on” year for its largest biennial events in 2011. Like-for-like revenues were up 11%, while forward bookings for 2014 on a like-for-like basis also rose 11%. The Tarsus model is to build both organically and through acquisition a portfolio of leading events, which are considered such an essential promotional tool by their customers that they typically book the next event when the previous one finishes and that high repeat business provides bullet proof cash flows.
