In our update last December we suggested “2015 could be NMC’s year” and so it has proved with the shares soaring almost vertically to a high of 675p. The catalyst was the acquisition of 86% of Clinica Eugin, a Barcelona-based fertility treatment provider for Eu123.5m (10.2x EBITDA), triggering significant forecast upgrades.Eugin is one of the largest European providers of fertility treatments by number of cycles performed annually and has the largest egg bank in Europe. It provides c. 10% of donor IVF treatments in Europe, while its range includes intra-uterine insemination, in-vitro fertilisation, fertility preservation and genetic screening.
