Results from SMS, which improves efficiencies in the UK gas supply chain, were slightly ahead with revenues, pretax profit and eps rising 52%, 66% and 77% to £42.4m, £12.8m and 14.4p, respectively.The original gas infrastructure business, which installs the meter and connecting pipeline infrastructure for gas suppliers, increased sales by 42% to £20m while operating profit rose 35% to £6.6m.However, the strongest driver came from meter asset management, which manages non-core activities for energy suppliers serving the industrial & commercial (I&C) and domestic markets.
