Shares in Ibstock, the UK’s largest clay brick manufacturer, have struggled since our tip last February but have recovered well from a low of 110p. Clearly, the Referendum result didn’t destroy its markets as results were marginally ahead of forecast with revenues up 5% to £435m and EBITDA up 4% to £112m. Eps was 18.1p on a low tax charge.Divisionally, the UK (79% revenue), which has 19 brick plants and 23 active quarries, increased EBITDA 4% to £103m. Although there was de-stocking in the first half by builders merchants, within one month of the referendum sales recovered to the previous year.
