The shares soared to a new high of 298p after Ibstock, the UK’s largest clay brick manufacturer, issued strong results and a new policy to pay out supplementary dividends starting from 2018.Results showed revenue, pretax profit and eps rising 4%, 12.1% and 18.4% respectively. Notwithstanding Brexit effects on housing demand, the brick market is virtually sold out, helped by solid summer demand for new build products and stable RMI markets, allowing for c. 5% price increases, which drove up UK EBITDA margins from 29.8% to 30.5%.
