It’s no exaggeration to say that Burford Capital, which helps lawyers and other third parties to finance law suits, is one of the most remarkable growth stories we’ve ever come across. We originally alighted upon them in June ’17 at 731p and the shares had flown to a high of 2048p last August before the recent retrace. Full year results for 2018 revealed revenues and pretax profit soaring 23% and 19% to US$425m and US$315.5m, respectively and beating consensus forecasts by 11%.
