The shares have spiked up to 147p after Medica, the largest UK provider of outsourced teleradiology services, announced decent results with sales rising 15.6% to £39m and EBITDA increasing 12.8% to £11.9m. Eps rose 12% to 7.75p while strong cash generation reduced net debt from £5m to zero.Medica’s main service involves complex images (such as CT or MRI) sent from a hospital to one of its offsite consultant radiologists for remote interpretation and it can provide this information in just 20 minutes. Given that an early diagnosis of life threatening illnesses such as cancer can make the difference between life and death, demand for its services is strong given NHS backlogs and lack of in-house resources. ...
