With shares in UK house builders having halved following a Government edict to freeze all property transactions due to COVID-19, the natural inclination is to compare this crisis with the 2008-9 credit crunch where, like now, some are questioning their very survival. Timing the exact moment when people can freely mix again is for the birds but company balance sheets are far stronger now than in the Great Recession while, this time around, banks are still lending.
