Maiden, the outdoor advertising contractor, has announced resultsfor the six months to June.  In difficult conditions, salesdeclined by 5.1% to £39m, while Maiden’s high operational gearingcharacteristics meant profit fell to £1.4m from £5.3m.  Maiden had previously claimed that an improvement was underway inthe first quarter but, in the event, sales worsened by 17%. However, since then, the trend has been more positive, with growth of2% in the second quarter accelerating to 9% in the third (i.e.July-September).Maiden remains an attractive medium-term prospect for fourreasons.  First, it is the fourth largest outdoor advertisingcontractor in the UK (behind  Clear Channel, Viacom and JC Decaux)a ...
