Shares in consulting engineer, White Young Green, have risen 24% ahead of our main recommendation in July, following record final results. For the 12 months ended 30 June, pretax profit increased 20% to £6.9m from a 17% rise in sales to £77m (organic growth of 11%). Earnings fell by 5% to 13.6p but this reflected a higher tax charge anda 20% increase in shares in issue to finance acquisitions. WhiteYoung Green's long-term strategy is to replace the one-off contracts associated with a typical consulting engineer with long-term partnering agreements.
