Although business events organiser Tarsus’ first half to 30 June is seasonally quieter, reflecting the lack of major shows occurring, its results were still encouraging with pretax profit rising 52% to £0.8m, from sales up 10.2% at £9.3m. Earnings rose 33% to 1.7p. Operationally the picture remains strong with like-for-like sales ahead 12% while forward bookings already cover 95% of the full year’s budget. The US operations enjoyed a 21% hike in sales to £2.9m, including solid growth from its Off-Price show and Packaging Summit.
