Peter Hambro reported a mixed set of results for the six months ended 30 June with turnover rising 53% to almost US$108m, leading to a 41% increase in underlying pretax profit. Eps increased 23% to 32.4 cents. Net debt was US$278m, leaving gearing at 44%. Growth came thanks to a 38% rise in the average gold price to US$901 / oz and a 9% jump in total attributable gold production to 147,000 oz. The forecast for the year is for production of 350,000-400,000. During the period the leading mine at Pokrovskiy contributed 127,800 oz, while the Omchak joint venture yielded 8,400.
