Chemring, which makes countermeasures and ordnance for the military, has won one of its largest ever contracts in its history, worth up to US$804m over five years, to supply the US department of Defence with infrared decoy flares through its US subsidiary, Kilgore. The flares will protect combat jets, such as F15 and F16s as well as helicopters, with the first delivery now already placed. Our decision to re-initiate coverage in the September issue looks well-timed with the shares responding to the win by leaping £2 to a new high of £26.10  and they look set for further gains.
