Given that AIM-listed pawnbroker H&T's first half results comfortably beat expectations, you might think that its share price graph would exhibit the classic bottom-left-to-top-right variety typically exuded by a growth stock. The fact that this has not yet happened is mainly because its well-timed move into gold trading meant that last year's headline earnings were boosted by an unsustainable “windfall†element on the back of a surge in gold prices and investors are now frustrated by forecasts for the inevitable pull-back this year.
