With two holdings in our Trader Portfolio it's pleasing to note yet another new high of 116.5p after Photo-Me confirmed that profits are running 10% ahead of last year. The star performer was its European vending business, in particular France with profits significantly ahead, helped by a first contribution from its laundry business and a continuing shift towards its higher margin “Starck†photo booths. UK profits were little changed. Encouragingly, China, although still relatively small, grew turnover 30%. The new laundry division is now being expanded, with 52 machines either operating or sold in the three months to 31 July resulting in a profit of over £0.5m, with average EBITDA per unit exceeding 50% of turnover.
