Sentiment in housing related shares has turned for the worse since we tipped LSL in September ‘13 and its cause has not been helped by the strict new rules on mortgage lending and concerns that an anti-property / wealth labour party will be elected next May.Nevertheless, LSL still posted strong interim results with revenues, underlying profit and eps rising 18%, 31% and 39% respectively. One other consolation is that LSL is paying a 16.5p special dividend from selling shares in the recent Zoopla float.The estate agency division grew underlying profit 46% to £12.2m on sales that rose 20% to £108.6m, helped by a 35% jump in house purchase approvals in Q1, although that slowed to just 7% in Q2.
