Shares in JD Sports Fashion, one of the UK’s largest retailers of trendy trainers, football boots and sports clothing, have more than doubled over the past year as investors have warmed to an impeccable trading performance that has seen pretax profit increasing from £60.5m to £100m in the two years to January 2015. The strong momentum has shown no recent signs of flagging with results for the seasonally weaker six months ended 1 August showing pretax jumping 82% to £47.6m.
