IG has announced the acquisition of the trade and certain assets of Biscay Greetings, a leading Australian-based greetings card and paper products business with 2,000 customers through regional, wholesale and independent retail channels. The deal is being conducted via its joint venture and is expected to double IG’s share of the Australian market.IG is paying AUD 9m (£5m) using local debt facilities with stock and fixed assets said to be worth AUD 5m (£3.1m) so there’s goodwill of only £1.9m.
