Our decision to hold on to JD after its first real stumble last June looks vindicated as the shares have bounced back after strong interim results, which noted a 33% increase in pretax profit to £102.7m (Shore Capital forecast: £90.6m) on sales that rose 41% to £1,370m. Like-for-like sales growth was 3%. Crucially, management expect full year results to be at the upper end of expectations of £268m to £290m.In its core Sports Fashion side, sales rose 30% to £1,170m with underlying sales up 3% in the UK and 7% in Europe.
