Medica is the UK’s largest provider of outsourced teleradiology services in which complex images (such as CT or MRI scans) are sent from a hospital to an offsite consultant radiologist for remote interpretation. Typically, using traditional technology, an NHS patient might have to wait a month before receiving their scan results, but Medica can provide this information in just 20 minutes while also alleviating backlogs and improving NHS productivity.With growth in hospital admissions and increased cancer diagnoses feeding a 50% jump in CT and MRI scans since 2013, Medica has increased pretax profit from £4.9m to £9.4m between FY’14-’17 and the outlook remains strong with Investec forecasting eps of 7.6 ...
