We’ve just passed the third anniversary of the Pandemic peak in August 2021 and while animal spirits returned in the spring and early summer, today’s watchword is one of caution as we approach Labour’s first budget with momentum shares not easy to spot. Nevertheless, one definitely showing relative strength is Coats, a manufacturer of industrial threads for use in clothing, footwear and athleisure markets. After peaking at just over 90p in 2019, the shares had been largely range-bound since, but 2024 has seen a break-out to an all-time high of 102p.
