Hamleys has announced the  acquisition of four stores, tradingas the English Teddy Bear Company (ETBC), for £710,000.  At thesame time it has placed 2.1m new shares at 165.5p to raise £3.32m,to  finance the acquisition from the receivers, as well asrefurbishment and new openings of ETBC stores. ETBC was established in 1991 and specialises in selling a range ofteddy bears, accessories and themed clothing, mainly T-shirts and sweatshirts.  Based on unaudited management accounts, the four storesmade a profit of £0.53m on  sales of £2m in the year to August2001 which fell to £0.22m on sales of  £1.6m  in 2002. Based on the 2002 figures, the exit PE was only 4.5,  so earningsenhancing, ...
