We recently spoke with Douglas Emslie, managing director of business exhibitions organiser Tarsus, just before he jetted off to Las Vegas where his company is hosting one of its largest shows. Like most of its other events, this one is expected to break all records for revenues and attendance and indeed Tarsus is riding the crest of a wave, with the recovery in confidence post 9/11 encouraging businesses to spend more on marketing their products. What we particularly like about Tarsus is the fact that it has built extremely strong franchises in its chosen areas and many of its customers book a long way in advance to secure a presence at its shows.
