It was a case of "steady as she goes" for escrow solutions provider NCC, whose results for the year ended 31 May showed a 44% rise in pretax profit to £6.6m, from a 15% increase in turnover to £20.7m. Fully diluted earnings rose 36% to 13.6p. On an underlying basis, operating profit increased 23% and was again driven by the core escrow side. This operation, which holds critical source codes that it will release to its client if the software developer goes bust, generated a 27% increase in profit to £6.1m on sales up 21% to £9.8m, as firms continue to view its service as an important plank of their disaster recovery strategy.
