Shares in Connaught perked up following a positive trading update for its year ended 31 August with both its main social housing contracting business and its smaller compliance division performing well. Order intake for 2007 has reached record levels, adding a total of £770m. Connaught has also made two bolt-on acquisitions on the compliance side for a combined total maximum of £4.3m. Larger of the two is Stevenage-based, PCL, an electrical testing and compliance servicing business, with a long-standing blue-chip client base mainly in the retail and banking sectors.
