Consulting engineer firm White Young Green has gained a significant step in its quest to double in size within three years. The company has announced the acquisition of specialist transport consultancy Savell, Bird and Axon (SBA), for an initial £18m (nearly £11m in cash, the rest in shares). A maximum earn-out of £4m is payable subject to performance targets being met. SBA, which has offices in London, Manchester and Cardiff, provides high level strategic advice to blue chip clients in the public and private sectors, on issues such as transport policy, travel plan initiatives, traffic impact assessments and land use policy.
