Shares in exhibitions organiser, ITE, which operates in sectors such as  oil & gas, construction and food, have been a by-word for volatility with extraordinary swings from a low of 13p shortly after 9/11 to a peak of 195p in May 2007. This historic volatility reflects the fact that its fortunes are tied to the oil-dependent Russian economy, which contributes over 75% of its profits and not surprisingly profitability was hammered when the credit crunch caused energy prices to collapse and sent the Russian economy into a tailspin.
