TMI portfolio stalwart Prezzo has soared to a new high of 56p after very strong interims, which showed revenues rising 11% to £48.4m while pretax profit rose 21% to £6.2m. Eps increased from 1.5p to 1.9p. In spite of using various promotions such as online vouchers offering two-for-one deals to boost trading, the restaurant group still achieved an increase in gross profit margin from 13.5% to 14.4%.Having detected a fairer economic wind late last year Prezzo has reverted to expansion mode again and during H1 it opened seven new restaurants as well as buying freeholds on two.
