Lavendon - Middle East to be leading contributor

Shares in powered access rental group, Lavendon, a TMI Trader Portfolio constituent, have endured a quiet year but interim results have finally caused a break-out to new highs. Although sales were virtually unchanged at £113.6m pretax profit and eps both increased 17% to £11.1m and 5.2p respectively. Increased capital spend saw net debt rise 11% to £108.3m.In the UK, most of the large projects have now ended and were replaced with jobs that only require its smaller machines, which meant the sales mix changed to lower margin work. However, ongoing savings from self help measures meant profit only fell £1.1m to £6.1m. 50% of work is from the broadcast and facilities management / cleaning sectors ...
