Having pulled back from a high of 1550p the shares are inching upwards again, helped by strong interims, which showed revenues, pretax profit and eps rising by 8%, 13% and 14% to £216m, £21.9m and 34p respectively. In marine support, which rents out fenders and mooring equipment and facilitates ship-to-ship oil transfer activity, profits fell from £9.4m to £7.7m, with ship to ship activity down in Q1. This side is also the most affected by the stronger pound versus US$. The June acquisition of Testconsult, which complements Fisher’s existing structural monitoring business, will boost profits by c. £1m in FY ’15.
