The shares moved back towards £3 after outstanding interims. These showed underlying pretax profit rising 109% to £44m, driven by a reduction in cost / income ratio from 64% to 53% and a 13% entirely organic rise in net loans to customers to £5.4bn (31 December ’14: £4.8bn). The key net interest margin jumped from 3.3% to 3.6%.Lending to SME commercial mortgages rose 12% to £2.5bn while residential mortgages grew 14% to £2.9bn and helping to fund this was an 11% jump in customer deposits to £5.0bn.
